Email sync problem (emails duplicating on outlook)

Greetings all, not exactly new to the SPV as had one over a year and now got an E200 BUT I need help.

My dad now has my original SPV. He can't send or receive emails from the phone as he's not using GPRS (the way he wants it). He does however sync his emails onto the SPV from his desktop. He uses Outlook 2002 and Activsync 3.71.

He's had the SPV a month now and has just told me his emails are being duplicated in Outlook. It seems the emails are syncing onto the SPV only for them to copy back to the desktop PC on next sync, creating duplicates. The duplicates only difference is that Outlook doesn't display their sender.

How can I stop it doing this? What I ideally want is to set Activesync to only sync emails from the PC to the SPV and not the other way round but I can't find any setting to do this.

Sorry mate, I've only every used GPRS e-mail (and even then only on the free e-mail trial :wink: ) so not sure what to suggest... maybe check the "device over-writes computer" etc settings? I seem to remember something from when I was syncing with my POP3 server about the messages being left on the server even when downloaded onto the phone but I don't know if that's of any use at all :roll:

It's a strange one as it doesn't always duplicate the mails. Just occasionally. :?
