I'm not installing it

I'm too scared I might mess up my phone. If I could make a back up of my current ROM then yet.

hi there, ive managed to get a copy of this generic moto rom, does any one know if i was to flash my uk orange mpx200 that the 900 band would work still,

im in 2 minds bout flashing my phone, im using t-mobile in the uk and im not sure what carrier band they are on?

Silly question guys ... but why would you want to install it ?

Ok, it unbrands the phone from Orange, but is that really worth it ! :? The main reason for this is to restore functionality that was removed from the US AT&T phones. Which were released without MMS and the 900Mhz band. As the ROM reverts back to the standard Motorola build, these features are re-enabled.

As UK phones have all this by default, seems like a risky operation for no gain.

I've got no problem with the 900MHz radio being enabled but I've been wondering about the MMS bit. When a UK MPx200 is hardreset the MMS client is removed, you need to reinstall from the CD. Is the JMMS client or a different one in the motorola factory release or is it just a hoax that this will give the AT&T owners MMS functionality?
