Guest dom Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 Hi, I'm taking mine back to the shop today (hopefully for a replacement) 'cos the casing is 'squeaky'! Anyhow, I'd like to do a hard reset first to ensure: a) All personal data/accounts are removed  The phone is in the state it was in when I bought it. I tried the SPV method for hard reset, but it didn't work. Method was hold down record button -> switch on (didn't get beyond that 'cos it booted up as normal). As ever your advise would be appreciated and thanks in advance for your responses!
Guest Shuflie Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 Hold the action button while switching on.
Guest dom Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 That's easy enough! Thanks Shuflie
Guest demirdag Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 That doesn't work for me....I've tried about ten times the following: Switch the phone off.. Plug in the battery charger hold down the action-key (the one in the middle, blue) switch the phone on (side button) HELP!!!!
Guest MPXtricky Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 forget about plugging in the battery charger unless to phone is totally dead! 1. Turn the phone off 2. Hold down the blue button 3. Turn the phone on whilst still holding down the blue button 4. As soon as the phone comes on, release the blue button and read the onscreen instructions asking if you want to do a Hard Reset. Click the left soft key (Yes) and wait.....a progress bar will show you that flash/ISPM is being erased. If your phone does not do this, then it's shagged. If it does, you may want to install whatever Motorola software was on the phone when you first got it, though Orange will probably do a complete rebuild of the software from scratch if they don't send it back to Moto for repair
