Guest Muckerz Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 hey all!! Thanx to every1 who helped me unlock my fone yesterday!! I'm gonna ask a really dumb question now! hehe How do i set a wav or mp3 file as my ringtone? I tried copying the file to the Windows directory... the sound appears in the list of "choosable" ringtones, but doesnt play. Instead i just get 3 very annoying beeps! Am i doing anything wrong?? Thanx again!! muckerz
Guest Richie M Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 You cannot use a mp3 as a ringtone :? Copy the wav's to IPSMMy DocumentsSounds if the Sounds folder does not exist create it
Guest Muckerz Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 Hey Richie! I copied the file simp86.wav (a 1.6 second Wav sound file) into IpsmMy documentsSounds. 8) The file copied over fine, but doesnt appear in the ringtone list. :? I am going to SettingsSounds ... and looking in the "Ring tone for line 1" options. Any ideas where i'm going wrong anyone?? :?: :?: cheers
Guest v1nn1e Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 copy the sound to ipsm/appliction data/sounds/ then try
Guest Muckerz Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 Ive copied the file to IPSMApplication DataSounds and its appeared in the list, but rather than preview the sound when i select it, i just get three beeps (identical to the tone "Alarm2"). Any other ideas?
Guest handle Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 your wav file is in a format that the phone can't play. if the phone doesn't support the sound format, it plays beep beep beep. try converting it to pcm. u don't need a special software to do that. just use windows sound recorder.
Guest Muckerz Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 Wicked it worked!! Now i've got crust sayin "awww crap!" whenever i get a text!! I love this phone so much!!! hehe Anyone got any good apps or anythin that they recommend?
Guest siu99spj Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 PocketMVP is always good for showing off to your mates (Or even complete strangers as I'm known to do ) Then there's GNUBoy which stops you needing your GameBoy, Rick Dangerous is murderously addictive as is PocketBoxy and my favourite is Smartanoid, but you need to be a Plus member for that. As for more serious apps, Task Manager and Smart Explorer from Binaries are a must. They'll allow you to close unnecessary apps (Task Manager) and move stuff around your phone as well as creating shortcuts (Smart Explorer).
Guest Richie M Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 copy the sound to ipsm/appliction data/sounds/ then try  thats the one sorry for the confusion
