Guest ferret Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 You Can't delete it because it's in ROM but you can delete the shortcut. Explorer to IPSMWindowsStart Menu Find the folder (called the same as in your programs list) the shortcut is in and delete it. Restart phone or kill the programs task and it's gone.
Guest MECX Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 your phone cant be slower!! Mine flys now and i havent even put on midnights speed tweaks. In what way is it slow?? Also im sure my 1.36 SPV didnt have a task manager in the ROM? Good eddition if you ask me much better than the free one out there. oh and if you did manage to delete it (which isnt possible) the space you will recover is very minimal. as for the storage --just think of how much space your saving being able to put your ring tones on your SD card
Guest Shuflie Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 I just have to answer this one, why do you think that the taskmanager in the 1.6 update is better than the free one? (I'm assuming here that you are talking about Binarys SP task Mmanager) The free version has many more features than the IA version, e.g. Process viewer, ability to kill system apps as well as non system apps (useful if you know what you are doing), nicer looking information screen (plus it doesn't try to show information for a non existant backup battery), ability to format an SD card (nice feature if you've hard reset your phone and want to start again with a completly clean SD card), can exit without leaving anything running in the background and manages to do all this without taking up as much space as the IA task manager. BTW its not really free, you are meant to register even though the author decided not to cripple it in any way other than an occasional (very occasional if I remember right) reminder.
Guest mikey1234 Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 i know it says you can have ringtones as storage.......do i create a new folder could someone explain? as ive tried endless ways and its still not recognising it.. can i assign a ringtone to a contact
Guest mikey1234 Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 exactly shuflie the ia task manager is crap THEY SHOULD OF ASKED BEFORE WE INSTALLED IT
Guest Shuflie Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 You can't assign ringtones to a specific contact unless they are on the phone (the ringtone that is). For general ringtones just stick them in your My Documents folder on the SD card.
Guest midnight Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 i dont see the big deal, not everyone knows about the free task manager, dont forget, not everyone with a smartphone frequents modaco. So its included, big deal, it prolly takes up like 50k or something daft, whats to stop you installing the Binary's one aswell? oh, and i believe the reason behind ringtones for specific contacts being on phone rather than SD is speed+ram. A single default ringtone probably becomes memory resident, something you cant do if you have loads of ringtones for all your contacts, and so probably loads these each time. People are already complaining about caller id being too slow, having different ringtones for each individual user loading from sd each time would slow it down even more. these are my thoughts about this, and i could be wrong of course

It works fine no problems. As Midnight said we should be lucky that they did include it, I feel sorry for all those that bought it then got it free! :D I didn't really notice any difference in the speed when I used Ringtones on SD card before. Now that the phone is much faster could this be why the Ringtones on SD card Tweak doesn't work properly anymore? Won't it wait for the one on the SD card to load and just plays the default one? I loved being able to have great ringtones on the SD card, now even though I can select them for contacts (with the Tweak) but they just don't ring.
