Guest SeeJ Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 I managed to get an early upgrade to the E-200 for free, and so I've been checking for problems on this new handset. The buzzing sound , from what I've read, seems to be due to the new speaker being more bassy. Some people have this problem, some don't so it must vary from handset to handset. Could it be that the wires inside the hanset connecting the speaker to the pcb are vibrating against the case? Maybe some other component is vibrating? The problem could occur on some handsets only due to slight production differences. Perhaps some nice person fancies opening their case to see if they can cushion the inside, thus solving the prolem........ Just an idea anyway.....

I don't think thats the reason SeeJ because.... i can play a really bassy mp3 on the E200 and i dont get the buzzing/distortion effect, its only when I am making or recieving phone calls. Thats why many people have now started to think its a software problem and not a hardware issue. This for me can be the only explanation because surely if it was a specific fault with the hardware itself then the problem would occur when any deep tone is played through the phone, be it music or a voice call.

What does this have to do with the insides of the phone??? Sorry, but I am not a believer yet. Just another theory... give us some facts and I'm sold

Sorry, but I am not a believer yet. Just another theory... give us some facts and I'm sold  You've got the wrong end of the stick, mate. I said I was upgrading and noticed posts regarding the buzzing problem. Then I offered a possible cause/solution. I wasn't saying wether anyone should upgrade or not, and I don't particularly care if you do either.
Guest Gnuig Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 I managed to get an early upgrade to the E-200 for free, and so I've been checking for problems on this new handset. Your word-ing was very easy to misunderstand, for a Dane, that is  and your topic mentions a possible solution for the e200 buzzing problem. Yet I do apologize for any misunderstanding regarding the upgrade comment. I still stand 100% on the rest of my post. And it is always nice to hear of a new theory... I am just fed up with different ideas, such as putting tape on the phone or 'software'-upgrades (as I thought you were referring to) - being the mother of all solutions. As I know there is no solution yet, and I am sure many have taken apart the e200 already, to check possible design faults (and try to fix it). Orange, HTC, Microsoft... Give us some facts!!! I do think you are right on one thing though. I think it's a hardware issue, but no-one at Orange is admitting this and least of all - letting us know about it and what's going on. /G PS. Too bad you don't care :!: Maybe you should find another forum for posting? I do care! In Denmark we are not able to upgrade from phone to phone, as you do in the UK, as an 'upgrade' has no meaning here. But to show you I care... Did you upgrade your phone yet? ... If not, go for the MPx200 instead, as I have! (thanks to a lot of help in here) ... If you have, does your e200 buzz too?! ... my advice, don't wait for a software upgrade, trade it in for another phone in protest
Guest SeeJ Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 I'm just off to pick my E-200 just now, you caring person. It should have been delivered yesterday, but the delivery man couldn't find my address. I'll tell you if I get the buzzing sound when I get back....
Guest SeeJ Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 Does buzz slightly, but not really enough to annoy me. Very happy with the phone overall!!
Guest Gnuig Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Does buzz slightly, but not really enough to annoy me. Very happy with the phone overall!! That ok. I know a lot have still keept their e200 also, as I agree the buzzing thing partially is a matter of personal opinion  I really do believe that the phone is one af the best ones around, and I know I will miss the photo/video features compared to the moto MPx200. Also the ability to use bluetooth, every now and then, but I didn't really see it as an 'must-have-thing'. I am glad to hear of your recent upgrade and wish you the best... as I am sure you will be very happy with the e200, if you can live with the slight buzz. Cheers  PS. Also the blue keypad is just the coolest thing, at nighttime in the club/pub etc. ... surely a looker!!!
Guest Jabbsy Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Does buzz slightly, but not really enough to annoy me. Very happy with the phone overall!! Yep I feel the same, I have an SPV with the new update and I have the E200..... I would choose the E200 over the old SPV any day of the week, i no-longer have to worry about bringing my camera attachment out with me, and when I do take pictures the fps on the E200 is so much better, its like silky smooth. No longer do i have to click the "capture" button and hope that I managed to capture a good frame. Also, its so much easier to develop apps for the .NET CF, please look out for my first application "E200 Media Toolkit" that will be coming soon and of course it will be freeware. *shameless plug* (Oh, it will be BlueTooth enabled aswell...just testing all that stuff now) And Gnuig, you're right, the blue keypad does look awesome!
Guest SeeJ Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Hey Jabbsy, nothing wrong with plugging freeware!! Looking forward to it!
