Guest c0052372 Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 How do I put a call onto the loud speaker during a call?
Guest JoelRae Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Hold down the green call button until the loudspeaker appears on the menu bar 8)
Guest c0052372 Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 How about with the phone closed? I assume I'd have to turn active flip off?
Guest Shuflie Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 I'm going to assume that you mean make the call with the flip open, turn on the speaker phone and then close the flip, right? It doesn't work, closing the screen will disconnect even if you have answer on flip off. There is a good reason why it shouldn't work too. With the flip closed the speaker would be right over the microphone and you would get very nasty feedback. Try it with the remote control software, even with the normal earpiece speaker there is whistling and echos on the other end of the line.
Guest c0052372 Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Fair point shuflie. I'm used to standard phones, not these flip ones. Amazing piece of kit though
Guest FrankyG Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 someone mentioned to me that they could follow my entire conversation, as the other person was loud and clear.... by default, does the callers voice get directed to both the external and internal speaker? At the time the above comment was made, I did NOT have speakerphone mode on :!:
Guest Emad Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 Nah, external only I believe - that way its directed away from the microphone to reduce interference. Works very well indeed.
Guest Shuflie Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 The internal speaker is quite loud, but not a patch on the external one.

Guest Emad Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 Only when on speakerphone - aaaah, I see now
Guest FrankyG Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 I know that it's only supposed to be when speakerphone is active that you hear the caller through the external speaker, but there seems to be very poor or nil sound insulation between the external and internal speakers, as yet again people in the same room as me could hear my caller loud and clear!! Can someone else test this - call someone and have someone sitting near you check to see if they can hear the other person? It's really poor, not good enough IMO  On the plus side, speakerphone functionality is great, but I do want privacy at other times...too much to ask is it!? :?

I have the same thing with my phone, seems like speakerphone and internal ear piece recieve the sound, I can hear through both my speakers at the same time, while in normal mode, not speakerphone mode, so its must be a flaw in my phone, kinda annoying too!
