Guest matd Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 Hi, I can't for the life of me get MSN Messenger to login. I've tried dial-up, Orange GPRS and even Pass Through connection on the cradle but MSN just won't login. All i get is : "Sign-in to MSN Messenger Service failed because the service is not responding. Try again later." Agile Messenger works fine, but as the E200 was advertised as having MSN Messenger as a feature i expected it to work fine and according to Orange Fax and Data Support though don't have any support materials to support Orange customers on this! Bleh! Anyone else got this working or know what might be going wrong?
Guest boyo Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 I had exactly the same problem and as far as I'm aware, I've not changed anything. I was going to show a mate that it didn't work and then all of a sudden, it started working. Then a few days later I got the same message and now it logs on all the time! Sorry I can't be more precise. Could it be a bug do you think ?!?!
Guest yoos Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 I have NO idea if this will help or if it's related, but it's worth a try I think... I had a problem where I couldn't get into the mobile MSN hotmail. I could get into mobile MSN, but not hotmail... One day I used pass through and tried and it worked!! I selected the checkbox to always remember my login/password and now it has worked on the phone without pass through since! I don't know why this worked for me, but let us know if it works for your case too...
Guest matd Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 Hi, thanks for the replies. No, like i said regardless of the connection type dial-up, gprs or pass through MSN just won't login... Agile Messenger works fine and i can log into MSN without a problem. MSN Messenger on the latest batch of e200's must be defective. This phone is brand new, litterally received it 2 days ago 11 December from Orange UK. Although Agile Messenger is very good, i would like to use MSN Messenger....
Guest strafft Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 related subject - can i stop my e200 logging off msn when i put it on the cradle while logged on?
Guest Max Bhai Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Hi, I dont know if this will help but i had the same problem. Then i went to the web & signed up for MSN Mobile & now i can log in to MSN from my E"200 The Only thing i havent tried to figure out is how to go in to my Hotmail Inbox from the the MSn Messenger. :D Cheers
Guest strafft Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 thanks  i can log in ok. but if i am logged in, and then put the phone on the usb cradle it logs me off :D so i log back in ok, but a bit of a pain... thought i had seen a tweak somewhere to stop this happening, but couldn't find it on a search...
Guest smith2001 Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 right i have had this problem myself serveral times, fixed it both times with 2 diff ways, first way: remove all GPRS connections from the settings section, and re-send the newist orange ones, so your phone will only have 1 GPRS connection and make sure it selected and not pass through. this made mine work fine that 1 time, seems msn had a problem with so many connections to choose from even though you tell it to use a certain 1 second way: i found this way only worked when MSN has never worked on my phone when it was first got it. anyway, i did a hard reset with full battery and then all of a sudden it worked once the phone has be reset. let me know how it goes, as 1 of these should sort it. always did for me Daniel
Guest pd.ryder Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 I've had this failing to sign-in as well from time to time. I'd put it down to MSN's probs rather than my own because it was so intermittent. I occasionally get a msg telling me sign-in failed because I'm already logged in. I don't know why but a restart of the E200 usually fixes it.
