Guest scott_donald Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 how do you do this i just end up turning the dam thing off...
Guest Shuflie Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 Just press the hang-up key, don't get confused by the G symbol on the external LCD or at the top of the screen, its just there to show that there is a GPRS connection available to use if you want to (should both be there from when you switch the phone on actually but that's another matter). When the GPRS session is active there will be another G on your signal indicator on the main screen and the G on the LCD screen will be in inverse video format.

Guest martin Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 You can force the IP connection to close by pressing the (red) end call button but to be honest you don't really need to end the GPRS sessions. [edit] WOW those replies came in quick. Two minutes ago there was nothing there. I must be getting slow in my old age

Guest martin Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 does it not suck more battery found that on my oldrer panasonis gd87 and v66.... This was one of my first concerns with the permanent IP connection on the E200. The good news is that (as far as the Orange Network is concerned) leaving an active but idle IP connection open will not utilise the battery any more than closing the connection  It's because, even with an active IP connection, you go into something called standby mode on the GPRS network after which you no longer update your cell location (only RA as per usual). If you know what I mean
Guest dazh71 Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 Posted from my SmartPhone! hi all, is there a gprs mb counter? as i only get three mb's a month. about wasting battery is it the same as internet explorer and media player as i have to turn them off through task manager? thanks Daz
Guest martin Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 There are two GPRS counters that I know of but I haven't tried either so I can't really comment on them. You could do a search for past topics for moer info. http://www.all-locations.com/ The full product is for purchase but it does have a trial version. http://twyx.ifrance.com/twyx/ imeter is freeware. Click on the link at bottom of page to access downloads.
Guest cheekymonkey Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 All-locations GPRS monitor is excellent, I'm on the trial right now but will purchase when it ends... unless I have to hard reset before then :)
