Guest Falstaf Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 When using MSN all day, keeping the phone in my pocket, i often get disconnected because the "End" button gets pressed accidently. This happens even if the keypad is locked. Is there some reghack, anyhthing, to diable the function that disable's GPRS on "End"-key?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 Why would you want MSN connected if you are not using it? All that is doing is costing you GPRS usage. Probably what is happening is that when it is in your pocket it is timing out due to inactivity.
Guest Falstaf Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 I have 5 000 kB GPRS usage included /month. That covers staying connected and chatting every day, atleast 6 hours  Its abit anoying for instance if youre waiting for a response from a coworker and you notice after 20 minutes that you got disconnected because you moved too much while the phone was in your pocket.
Guest Falstaf Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Maybee this topic should be moved to a general smartphone forum? probably valid not just for the tanger? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Falstaf Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 ^bumb^ someone must know a way to fix this... there are so many of us tech geeks out there :)
Guest lutzh Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 hi buddy, thats not by accident- the end button is thought to end all kind of connections on tanager. the workaround is a) enable dial blocking under the security setting (e.g. autamatically key lock after 2 minutes). so you have the keys logged and cant press end by accident. :) enable the key lock via the on/off switcher, then you are still connected and have the keys locked without having to press the end button. c) is telling the messenger to login whenever a connection is available- so even if you get disconnected after pressing end it will connect again then... i hope there's something that helps you... cheers, lutz

Hey :) None of the solutions seem to work for me on my Qtek7070. a) even when its devicelocked the "end" key still disconnects GPRS :( same thing here as in A, key still avtive c) I always have GPRS coverage but it doesn't log on to MSN even though the option is selected in MSN passport settings. There must be some way to separate "disconnect GPRS" and "disconnect voice call" on event keypress:"end" looks cryptic, i know.. but i couldnt find a better way to explain it :D perhaps this is something that needs work done by microsoft to be possible at all? paul? Regards, Magnus
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 To change this you would have to alter the entries on the radio part of the phone. This is not accessable unless you have the correct security access.
Guest Will Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 i've never seen this option in the registry, i think it's coded into the OS. - sorry
