Guest PDAZealot Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 I've seen this working from a guy in Russia and sophist in Hong Kong, but how about in the good ol' USA? I bought the camera and have been killing myself to get this working. Installed IA Album 1.6, etc, 10 hard resets later, it's not working. BTW, the Gaborvision site in Taiwan is useless, and good only for the entertainment value of seeing really bad misspellings. This is the ViewTake CM35D SD Camera. I've seen the suggestion that since I have the ATT branded MPx200 in the US that I need the unbranded ROM version. Could anyone confirm that they have this running on the unbranded ROM? I can flash it to that, but I don't want to do it unless it has been proven to work[as I can't flash back, and it kills the warranty]. Please let me know here, or in PM.
Guest cortez Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 you probably need the camera software which i believe is part of the unbranded ROM (e.g., discussed on MPx200.org)
Guest PDAZealot Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Maybe. Then again I an using the ia software that is supposed to be exactly what i should be using. what does the generic rom have beyond that? i would like to know what i would gain as i cant come back once i apply this rom. Anyone have any hard info and not just pure speculation? I would really appreciate any good suggestions. Thanks. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest PDAZealot Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 I got a copy of IA Album 2.0, and the problem was resolved! Camera works great now, and I am busy taking pictures like crazy. I'll post more info and pictures for the forum soon. Thanks again for everyone's help!
Guest mcwarre Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Where can you buy it and how much is it? (The camera!!)
Guest PDAZealot Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Remember, you have to have the IA Album 2.0 software for this to work correctly. It's pricey, but it's still pretty cool. http://www.celluloco.com/products/customer...=163&cat=&page= They ship quite quickly as well. Use the FedEx SuperSaver rate and it will be there in 2 days.
Guest jerksmile Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 would you mind posting some pics you've snapped? i would love to see the thing in action!
Guest lllr Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 Where did you get IA Style Album version 2.0? The only version on their website is 1.6. Kevin

Guest Shuflie Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 The pocketpc bit in that link would point towards a pocketpc version of IA Album not the smartphone version wouldn't it?
Guest salad_tosser Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 yes, i realized that after i posted; sorry. does the camera/phone beep or make a sound when a picture is snapped, or is this one noiseless and stealthy?
Guest mugenakuma Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 Hey PDAzealot, Have you thought about flashing your rom to the generic motorola version? Maybe the AT&T branded motorola rom is not allowing your phone to run the camera? Just a thought. I recently flashed my AT&T mpx and I LOVE it's new abilities, specifically MMS messaging (alot of fun with all the animated gifs you can find on the net) I do have one question for you though. What picture resolutions is your camera capable of capturing? What about movie resolution? good luck with your problem, Glenn
