Guest arunhallan Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Hi, I've tried to search it in here but i couldnt find anything... Im coming to the end of my 12month contract with orange. I know that if you're clever enough you can get them to match a 3 tariff if you threaten to cancel your contract... i just want to know how easy this is, and has anyone done this?? If so what did u say etc?? What did they say?? And also, with the SPV e200, has the headset problem come back? Thanks
Guest b0x Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Apparently a friend has a 3 tarrif on orange. I tried 3 times speaking to many different departments but non of them gave in and offered me a 3 tarrif  jon
Guest Shaks Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 My contract finishes this month so I rang them up and threatened to leave for 3. They offered me 400 minutes for £30 (doubled from 200 minutes) and 30 free texts per month and also gave me an upgrade to an mpx200 3 weeks early. Wouldn't match 3's tariff exactly though (500 minutes for £25). I rang them a few months before too about matching three and they point blank refused saying they are promotional tariffs. However I have heard rumours saying some people have managed to get their tariffs matched to 3. Shaks
Guest arunhallan Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Hey 400 minutes for 30 quid wud be good... so u just foned up and sed u wanted to cancel and leave for 3? My contract ends on 22nd jan, when u think i shud contact them?
Guest Pukka Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 I also did this except I got 240 minutes for £25 and 150 text messages free each month. It definitely works as I have had numerous friends do the same.
Guest gjpgjp Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GUYS DO NOT GOTO THE THREE NETWORK GUYS. I joined them and you can not believe the service you get. * Dropped Calls ( Every Call) :x * Indian Customer Services - they don't understand you :x * 30 mins + queue for customer services :x * Phones are as big as a brick :x * Your friends will get unobtainable when they dial you :x It's a NEW network guys - you are paying low rates because you are being a guinea pig.
Guest mcwarre Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 you are paying low rates because you are being a guinea pig. Is that why E200's are so cheap???? :D :) :D
Guest b0x Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 gjpgjp, you missed the point of the post i think, it's about getting a 3 tarriff on the orange network! Mcwarre. Compared to the free mpx200 or the nokia 6600 for around 60 my £149 e200 is not cheap  jon
Guest schildy Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 I'll agree with gjpgjp. The service from 3 is diabolical. Apart from the poor customer service, and dropped calls. Signal gets lost turning a corner. stick with Orange, I wouldn't change. I tried their Moto 920 and it wnet back 1 week later. Absolutley useless (and that is being nice)
Guest mcwarre Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 my £149 e200 is not cheap  jon Ouch, Been offered it for £49.99 by O on upgrade (and I am on E50)!! :D :)
Guest b0x Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Orange must really like you! My 2 bills before my upgrade were £87 and £141 with a basic tarrif of £62 (including all my bundles and OC). I probably should have pushed a bit more  jon
Guest arunhallan Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Yes ppl are missing the point............. I dont want to move to 3, i want orange to match 3! Hopefully il get around 400 minutes when i do it
Guest MECX Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 ok my contract ends on the 17th of jan and i phoned up asking for an upgrade to an MPX200 early--- 'yes sir that phone will be free' cool i said when can i have it 'well once you have paid the £125 contract cancelation fee you can have it straight away' £125 for one month!!!!!!!! then i told her that was stupid (in a more polite manor) and that i might just end my contract and go to someone else===ok sir ill just transfer you to dissconnections----SHE CUT ME OFF!!!! will phone up after xmas i think and say im gonna moxe to three and see what they say
Guest kevlar Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 ok sir ill just transfer you to dissconnections----SHE CUT ME OFF!!!! Must have been her time of the month  Kevlar
Guest mcwarre Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 ok sir ill just transfer you to dissconnections Ring back! The disconnection department are now the only ones able to waive the upgrade fee. BTW £125 sounds an odd number, what tarrif are you on? Normally, if you are in the 6th month or more it is only £75 (unless on Virgin I believe) the higher your average spend the better chance of the fee being waived. They offered to waive it for me when I had 3 weeks left and my spend at the time was about £25...... Have another go and let us know how you get on.
Guest MECX Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 yeh i spend like over 25 a month (sometimes it runs to nearly 80-90) ill have another pop when i have time and see what they say.
