HARD RESET PROBLEM

Hi guys, I hope you can help me with this. I just did a hard reset on my Orange SPV and now have no programs or anything on it. Can someone PLEASE PLEASE tell me how to get all the programs back on my phone.

Welcome to the site :lol:

A Hard Reset takes the phone to it's factory defaults or as we say here

"out of the box settings" It erases the IPSM so you will lose all your

contacts and everything you have installed on the phone.

What you now need to do is to reinstall the apps, games and home

screens etc you have.

OK how do I reinstall these programs? The phone seems to be completly dead. There is nothing on it. When i press PROGRAMS i dont get a list. Where are these programs? The phone was not like this when i took it out of the box lol THX

Sounds like you may need to try a hard reset again.

I thought you just ment your installed apps had been deleted not the entire Programs list :oops:

You say resetting but have you tried a Hard Reset again?

If so then the next option is to run one of the updates that are available.

OK. The phone is really dead. My pc dosent recognise it, there are no programs or apps on it, the light stays on and asked to install a home screen as it cant find one. When i turn the phone of it just freezes and the light stays on. Is the phone totally broken??

As awarner said you can always try installing a ROM update.

Can you get to the tri-colour canary screen ? It should say SERIAL at the bottom of the screen which changes to USB when the SPV is connected to the cable. Try a ROM install from the canary screen.

OK this home not found thing.. rings a bell in my head.. pm me after christmas day and i might have recalled how i managed to make my phone do that..

Just to check you did a hard reset, pressed 8 and waited till it said passed, then allowed the phone lots of time to reboot? (20-30mins)

i need help to reset..i cant upgrade from the canary screen as pc wont find it..any other ideas please...tried to reset get.

flash identiy ok

flash erase ok

then passed at bottom..what do i do now.

what do you maen the PC will not find it?

When the phone is plugged in to the PC if it says on the screen USB

then the PC is seeing it. Just run the update from the canary screen.

on th phone screen i get the following

canary diag v0.97

erse ipsm

flash identity ok

then at the bottom it says passed..

if i switch of or remove the battery and turn it back on i just get the canary mv screen.

ative sync will not find the phone..

any ideas would be greatful.. :cry:

Activsync is not used during the update, as locg as you are on the canary

screen and it shows USB then you just run the update.
