i went to buy an e200 on OVP everyone 100, its £39.99 on £21 line rental, right.

nope, wrong, after i went to the checkout and back it went up to £25 ! :?

so i clicked on everyone 100 (as you would) again, and guess what it went back down to £21. :?

alright, so some gits gonna say 'its only £4 a month extra !' but its still an injustice (big word, big word). plus, my student financial methodologies wont allow it. (and they say you dont learn nothin at uni  )

why do you do this to us 1stop? :D I didnt do nothin bad to you.

Er, I'm stating the obvious response here, but, what did they say when you rang them about this? Or haven't you yet?

Let us know what their response is when you do mate.

I am having problems with that company at the moment myself. I returned my first E200 to them as they were charging £59.99 and within 2 days of receiving it, I found it for free. So I returned it within the 14 days and expected a refund a few days later. (With a bill to follow for the couple of calls I made.)

They received my phone on the 28th November, but I haven't had any replies to my emails, or received my refund, over 2 weeks later. (Everytime I call them the line is busy and I refuse to waste my time on telephone calls if I can help it.) So this morning I was a little more 'forceful' in my email. I asked for a reply to my email within 7 days and a refund within 14, or I would take legal action. Surprise, surprise, within 15 minutes I had a reply apologising for 'any delay' and that they had received my phone, but not the SIM card. They would process my refund as soon as I sent it to them.

:x I couldn't believe it! The SIM card was in the box along with everthing else.

I called Orange and they confirmed the SIM hadn't been used since the 21st November (which is when I last used it) and that the account was still active. I asked about the charges for the calls I made and more importantly, the line rental. They said I will be charged line rental until the shop cancels the contract!

Well that was unacceptable and I told her, but she couldn't do anything about it and I have to take it up with the One Stop Phone Shop.

So another email was called for. I told them I will not pay for any service after the 28th November, which is the date they received the phone and the contract should have been cancelled. True to form, they haven't replied yet. :x

VAT?

£21 + 17.5% = £24.68 (and then rounded up to £25?)

Just a though, but its a common practice for web shops to put things without VAT and then add it later at the checkout.

@sponge, keep threatening legal action...and try and get clued up on your rights (ie to do with selling over websites and what onestop can and cannot do etc)

I would personally suggest anyone deciding to buy from OneStopPhoneShop to think again...I've had a nightmare time trying to sort out a pricing issue with them and all I've had is lies and mis-information. It was all over their price matching offer whose terms and conditions seem to change on a whim as they are not specifically stated anywhere. They even denied that a conversation had taken place between myself and one of their sales operators and setup a contract/direct debit to a third party support company without my instruction.

I escalated the problem to their Sales Director who had no sympathy with the situation and made no effort to sort out the situation, simply re-interate the same mis-information.

I gave up in the end as it was not a huge amount we were talking about, simply the principle of getting some form of customer service.

All I can therefore do it to advise anyone who still wants to buy from OSPS to....

- Read the terms and conditions

- Write down names of people and the times you spoke to them

- Call from a telephone number that would show up on their call logging system ( if they do actually have such a thing as they said they do) otherwise they will use the excuse that they can't isolate your call without a telephone number showing against it.

- Ultimately go elsewhere if there is a similar deal!

This morning I got a bill from Orange for £52.04 for the phone The Onestopphoneshop has had since the 28th November! So it seems they still haven't cancelled the contract.

According to OCS, short of paying the remainder of the year's line rental, I can do nothing to expedite the cancellation. The matter is in the shops hands. When I called the shop earlier today they said they can't do anything until Monday!

Needless to say, I won't be paying the bill. But I am still waiting for my £59.99 refund. :x

Still no refund from the Onestopphoneshop! So I telephoned Barclaycard and they have suspended the £59.99 payment. The matter is in their hands now.

If nothing else, then it has confirmed the importance of using a credit card for purchases.

Thats pretty awful. After my first E-200 seemed to have no speaker problems, after a few days of heavy use it started the awful buzz. Sent my third direct to Orange and was going to order one from "onestop" this Monday when my bank card arrives to hopefully get a non-buzzer. However after reading this, im not too sure :?

Think I should go ahead with it :?:

It can be difficult deciding where to place your custom. There are always going to be 'horror stories' about buying from retailers. I bet there are many people that have bought from The Onestopphoneshop without any problems at all. So in the end you just have to make an informed choice based on everyones accounts and your 'gut feeling'.

Personally, I won’t be using them again.

I thought I would keep you up to date with my little problem with The Onestopphoneshop (and Orange)...

The contract still hasn't been cancelled!

I keep getting bills off Orange (which are increasing) and today I got a letter (off Orange) threatening legal action for fraud!

I have tried to keep the lines of communication open by telephoning and emailing Orange and 'the shop', but they are doing nothing.

So today I contacted 'the shop' saying the matter was now in the hands of my Solicitor.

Anyone know a good Solicitor?

Sponge,

Goto trading standards now before Orange take legal action..........

Don't see why not. Give them a ring. Did you send the phone back registered? If you did at least you have proof. I believe that trading standards would be interested as you returned the item under the 14 day distance selling agreement which is a consumer right.

O have to protect their business so it is probably a procedural thing. I would keep records of all conversations and send all mail recorded. Go speak to trading standards.

I sent the phone back via Securicor and it was signed for on the 28th November.

I will definitely be contacted trading standards, even after receiving this response only a few minutes ago...

Dear Craig,

Our Customer Services Manager is currently looking over your situation and I will get back to you as soon as we have some news for you.

Many thanks

SPONGE, I can sympathise totally! Only my beef was with "TheMobileRepublic.coN"

Waaaay back in September bought me E100 + a SL55 for the wife, good deal i thought (free etc.). the fones turn up - our details SWAPPED over and the SL55 faulty. So sent back the SL55 within 7 days and expected the usual cancellation of contract (which I requested over the phone) Yet, guess what? they didnt cancell it! FOR 5 MONTHS!!!

After much conversing with Orange (who have been great) finally dealt them a DEALER ISSUE WRIT which 'pokes' the company in questio to action or face severed ties with orange. my 5 line rentals will be refunded on next bill. :)

Got to say that Onestop were pretty quick on the first cashback I was entitled to. Took lewss than a week and I got a cheque for £100 last week.

(This was for a second bog-standard phone with £200 cash back).

So on that score, at least, they were on the ball.

I had several problems with OneStop, they "forgot" to put on the 3 months free insurance and when my phone got a problem they refused to sort it out - they cant put on insurance after purchase, even if i was entitled to it!! Nonsense if you ask me, theyre cheap but not so cheerful, my advice is buy it from a shop, at least you know who your dealing with then...

I agree, buy your phone from a shop,

I got a cold call from a company called North East Radio Paging, who gave me what I thought was a great deal on my E200, I have had nothing but problems. From now I will always buy my mobile from a store.

At least if you buy from a shop and do have a problem you know where to go and kick some ass.

My contract still hasn't been cancelled.

Orange are no help what-so-ever and The Onestopphoneshop are just plain liars. They tell me they will sort it out and call me back - they never do.

The woman I need to speak to in Trading Standards has thus far eluded me. I will be be trying again on Monday.

Well I spoke to a very nice lady in Trading Standards and she told me not to worry. The letters threatening debt recovery agencies and bad credit scores can all be ignored. They can't do anything without taking me to court first and even if they try to do that I have nothing to worry about.

I explained everything I had done, i.e. telephoning all the companies involved, submitting forms and copies of all my letters and emails and she said I should just just leave it to them. Forget about it. Don't pay anything, to anyone. It's their problem, let them fix it. So it's out of my hands now.

I haven't heard from anyone in a few weeks now, but I fully expect to get another bill from Orange. Which I will ignore, again.
