Guest VR6Pete Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Hiya. Just got a SPV e200  really impressed so far! couple of questions... I dont use windows on my home pc. Is there any activsync software for linux? Are there any "gnome" style home pages been created? Ive seen the mac version and it looks very nice! does it work fine with the e200? Also is there any ssh clients that will work with the e200 over GPRS? Id like to be able to console into my home servers. Regards VR6Pete
Guest Vector Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 There are some gnome skins floating around, i just can't seem to find any at the moment :s Try a Search

Guest Vector Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 is the mac one fully compatable with the e200? Pete As far as i know, yes
Guest VR6Pete Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 stupid question, but how do I install this? everytime i try n download the cab it opens up in internet explorer
Guest morpheus2702 Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 What I do is transfer the file over to the phone using ActiveSync. Then using Smart Explorer (on the phone - not sure if E200 comes with it), navigate to the cab file and click on it. It should then install.
Guest Will Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 you can beam it over ir? does your linux distro have that facility? or do you have the hardware? Look for ppc linux apps.. something might be there! Will
Guest VR6Pete Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 my computer isnt equipted with infared.
Guest Will Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 I believe evolution distro allows usb sync.. (no more info sorry.. look on their site!) Will
Guest Mr Orange Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Can't do wrong starting here:- http://synce.sourceforge.net/synce/
Guest benjymous Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Another sollution to getting apps onto your phone is to get a USB SD card reader, which should work without needing drivers on Linux - then you can copy a .cab onto the memory card, bung it in the phone, then install (but ofc this won't let you sync your addressbook/calendar/etc)
Guest VR6Pete Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 im currently trying to get synce working, but it isnt picking the phone up, can anyone confirm that this phone works with synce?
