i purchased a refurbished spv1 about 5 hours ago, it's was running great then i turned it off then swiched it back on, you know the orange screen just before it goes on to the smartphone screen?. It get's stuck on the orange screen and just hangs there. i duno what to do, please help

I would do a hard reset. This will restore the phone to its original 'out of the box' state.

Make sure you have a charged battery before attempting the hard reset and leave the SPV to reboot (sunset screen) for up to 5 mins afterwards.

Welcome to the site :lol:

There are meny reasons that this can happen, from low battery to

dodgy xml code (homescreens) to registry errors.

i got a some more questions if that's ok, how do i unlock my SPV? it's got cannary 1.10. I've wacked my old old (it's before the time of wap) orange sim in it, nothing like wap or gprs works, is this because my sim dosn't souport it?

I believe all Orange SIMS should have GPRS activated.

Do you get a top centre G showing on the phone ?

nah but i do when i put in my mates sim, my sim realy is old style, it's one of the white ones.

Have you phoned up OCS and asked for GPRS to be activated?

one more question some programs i try to install can't insatll because it does not have adiquate system permisions, how do i get round this?

You need to decert the phone (application unlock) just click on OTA

for more instructions and a link to unlocking at the Orange Developers site.

No, it's a very simple process and no risk is involved when decerting.
