Guest getwired Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Trying to make the display of voicemail messages clickable so that it dials my voicemail number. Anyone know how to do this? <plugin clsid="{2F930BF0-6FE9-4a53-9E17-88E9247BAB48}" name="voicecount" height="20"> <background b-border-width="0"> <format state="selected"/> <format state="nocall" visible="true"/> </background> <label halign="center" font-weight="bold" x="62" y="3"> <text><unreadVMail/></text> </label> </plugin>
Guest smittyofdhs Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 That would be great if you could do that but... the problem with the voice mail counter is that it won't show you anymore then 1 voice mail. If you get a second voice mail the plugin doesn't update the counter. This is how it is on the ATTWS MPX200, is the behavior of other devices different?

I have not noticed that behavior, but even if this is the case, I would still find it easier to navigate to the count and clicking on it for the phone to dial my voicemail number. Right now, I have to go to contacts and go to my voicemail entry, and that's just a pain. If I click on my SMS/Email count, it takes me to my mail. I just want something similar when I click on my voicemail count, and have it dial to my voicemail.
Guest smittyofdhs Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 why would you have to navigate to contacts? just hold down the 1 button so that it speed dials voice mail. Likewise, when I get a new voice mail, at the homescreen the right soft key becomes a quick link to voice mail. Is that not the case on all smartphones? I know it would differ based upon the XML used for the homescreen layout, but all the default XML files have that ability.

This is how it is on the ATTWS MPX200, is the behavior of other devices different? On the Samsung i600, the counter does get updated with each new voicemail. However, the i600 does not show the voicemail icon in the top icon bar (beats me why they chose to leave that out). Also, on the i600 you do not get a voicemail notification in your Inbox. Consequently, when you switch the phone off and back on, the voicemail counter resets to zero.
Guest D-rated Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 Not sure why, but my voicemail count doesn't get updated at all. I had two voicemails from last night that I hadn't deleted. I just called and left a test voice mail, looked at my phone and noticed one new SMS message. T-mobile sends an SMS message when you have new voicemail. The actual SMS message said I had 3 new voicemails. Then I made another call, left another test message, checked the phone again, and the voice mail counter was still at 0. I still had one SMS message, this time the message had updated itself and told me I had 4 voice mails. Does anyone have the voice mail counter working on an MPX200 on t-mobile?
