Guest Coucou Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 I got a replacement SPV not a couple of weeks ago, the first had software problems (kept performing partial hard resets) this one appears to have a faulty direction pad. When I press right or left in the area indicated the cursor/game character will go up. I've tested this with Orneta Tester too, this agrees with me. I should point out that I can use left and right if I move my thumb down a bit. Orange have offered to replace the handset with another SPV, I'm not sure a) it's really bad enough to go through the pain of unlocking/replacing everything again and  risking getting another dodgy SPV. If I thought I'd get an upgrade then I'd go for it, does anyone know what Orange's policy is on changing handset type when doing warranty replacements? How many do they have to go through first?
Guest beersoft Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 it sounds like its user error  my joystick has a habbit of going wonkey, its most likely to be a oversenstive orange will change the handset type after about 5 replacements. Later Owen
Guest Coucou Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 User error? You cheeky ###@@~'#! You won't have said that when I turn up on your doorstep with a sledgehammer  I never had this problem with my last one :D
Guest Will Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Personally I would : ring orange, point out that this replacement is faulty, and request the 'new' replacement is fully tested, and point out that it would be reasonable to expect a 'NEW' new phone if the replacement they send you this time has a fault. Will
Guest beersoft Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 sorry  that did sound alittle harsh. my mates e100 did the same type of thing (go down not across) so it is a fault. give OC hell because they are whenever the problem has anything to do with the spv/e100/e200 later Owen "hands up if your orangecare charges where more than your phonebill"
Guest mikey1234 Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 i had the same problem push down and it went right orange replaced it no probs
Guest Coucou Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 Cheers for the advice. Sorry couldn't read before. When did the URL mobile.modaco stop working? Don't worry beersoft, i'm not going to turn up with a sledgehammer really. Maybe a stink bomb... Posted from my SmartPhone!
