GSM850 after 1/4/04?

A few weeks ago there were statements going around to the effect that AT&T was going to require all suppliers provide phones with GSM850 in addition to the 1900 frequency. I haven't seen any post on this lately.

Can anyone confirm/deny this, that the MPx200 will have 850 after 1/4/04 (4/1/04 for our fine friends on the other side of the pond), or that AT&T will quite selling them then? :-)
