In SettingsSecurity there should be an option 3, Change PIN2

This option seems to take a few seconds to load but to change the code

you need to know the original code.

Hi,

I am curious that you menioned a "UK update". I bought my phone from ebay, and it had ATnT written on the phone's casing, but I don't get the ATnT startup screen. Instead, I get something that says "Mobile Operator". Also, I noticed in the phone's regional settings, that the Time and date, and money units were set for the UK (ie. UK time, UK pound, etc...). Just wondering if I might have this "UK update" that you speak of and if so, what it is.

Also, I too have seen the option number 3, which says change pin 2. I was curious about this, and I had wondered if that meant that a pin 2 was already assigned. So, I clicked on "Enable SIM lock" and the screen said "enter password: 3 attempts remaining". So I entered a random 4 digit password that I made up on the spot. When I clicked done, it said "Invalid password, 2 attempts remaining". When I noticed "2" instead of "3", I kinda got freaked out? What's going on there? Is the phone actually getting mad enough at me for entering a password with too few digits that it will actually kill my SIM card after 2 more trys? Seems crazy to me. What's going on. I'd really like to add some security to this phone, but not if it's gonna give me a bunch of trouble.

Also, any clue about how to restrict access to certain parts of the phone? For example, although I really like the "Smart Explorer" softwear, I am worried that a friend might start playing with my phone and accidentally mess with some important system files, so I'd like to make smart explorer accessible only by password. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks alot!

the 1.6 uk update is for the spv / spv e100 not the mpx200.

there was a leaked generic rom update for the mpx200 that does not have any network customisations, there is also an illegal 2003 update.

there are no official updates
