voicemail icon - different problem

i have read the previous posts regarding the stuck voicemail icon with interest but none address my particular problem. i received a message a few weeks ago that i saved and then deleted days later. upon 'deleting' the message the voicemail icon remained. i should explain that there are two different icons - one for new voicemail which is solid black, and one for saved voicemail which is hollow at each end. it is this second icon that remains stuck on my phone, and i have tried leaving new messages and deleting them, saving new messages and deleting them, and called orange to clear the icon but nothing seems to work. any advice would be greatly appreciated! cheers.

call the voicemail and wait until the icon goes away, hang up when it has.

thanks for the advice but i've already tried leaving the voicemail connected until the icon goes - it is impossible to leave it more than a minute because once the voicemail main menu is read out three times it automatically disconnects the call. a minute does not seem to be long enough to clear this icon and i have tried multiple times. i should point out a slight mistake in my last message - the icon in question, the saved voicemail icon, is actually only hollow at one end and solid black at the other.
