anyway, here's my first question:

i have a few (pocket pc) games here on my pc - if i want to install them, do i copy the exe to my smartphone storage card (256mb) and then create a shortcut to the .exe file and place that in my start menu folder?

is this the correct way of installing games and apps?

please, pardon my ignorance! :?

if the game is just an exe then yes that is the correct way to install a game, but you cant run pocket pc games on your smartphone. There are plenty of smartphone games out there, have a look in the game discussion part of this forum:

Also you will find some games maybe be installed from your pc, you run an exe (on your pc) and it installs on your phone via activesync. The installation file might be a .cab, in which case i suggest you get this little program (for your PC) that makes installing cabs via active sync a snap:

If you have any problems with anything, always remember to do a search first, there is a lot of stuff on this forum already been posted hehe :)

ps. Welcome to the site!

thanks for the reply, especially the info regarding the installation of .cab files. i've been struggling to install task manager and smart explorer for the last half-hour, but your reply made it a snap! :)

cheers!!!

Pocket PC games will more than likely not work due to screen size and touchscreen.
