Bought original SPV over 12 months -

Bought as upgrade in Orange shop in Newcastle Northumberland St. - asked for Orange Care, and the Philips DVD player (which still works well!)

returned that and was replaced due to software screwing up no longer booting.

In Sept i had a few probs on it - dust and an eyelash in the screen (this had built up over the year so wasn't new) But had a few probs with keys not working well - needing to be puched really hard) So rang up Orange Care to get it replced - was told that I didn't have Orange Care, so they couldn't do it - this left me confused, as I had requested it when I got the phone and had already had 1 SPV replaced (was told that this was replaced due to it being so new after getting it)

So, after this phone call, I called up the Orange Care line from 150, and requested Orange Care - can't remember what number exactly, but remember it was automated. I did this mainly as I travel all over the world on business, to some places that are a bit dodgy so getting someone wanting to nick it is high.

Today I called up Orange Care again to get my phone replaced, the buttons had gotten worse, with the 0 key often registering upto 3 clicks for every 1 - making things from frustrating to impossible to use. Again I was told that I didn't have Orange Care - What is going on? Orange don't want an extra £5 quid a month from me, even after requesting to give it to them twice?!

She offered to replace the phone for £30 - I figured that seems a fair price all things considered - certainly than the cost of care over 13 months! and it is being couriered tomorrow (which seems odd as tomorrow is a Sunday) But remembering that when I got through I was speaking to business relations - as I used to be on business tariff - i always get through to them, so maybe that sunday is an included care thing for busiesses - will find out tomorrow morning if it comes or not.

Unfortunately, she said it was an SPV (not E100, or E200) that would be delivered, and just the phone, no complete box - which is a shame, but never mind.

Just thinking now about selling replacement phone on ebay, and upgrading to E200 ... hmm ... mobileshop.com doing free keyboard and digi camera ... hmm, or could try my luck with upgrades ... wonder if they'll do an upgrade after just getting a phone replaced ... woman said that my £30 Care payment for the replcement was valid for 12 months, so if i upgraded on the same contract, my E200 would be covered for half price! :-)

Well, new SPV turned up today - am surprised, really didn't think Orange Care could deliver out on a Sunday - surprised but happy.

new SPV is nice and shiny like new (so if it's a refurb it's definately in a new case) and no dust in the screen! :-) ... it came with 1.35 OS so is currently being updated.

So, next step is a nice E200 on upgrade :-)
