SD Card

Hi,

I just bought a 512MB SD Card for my E200 and the guy of the shop told me that I had to format it specifically for my device.

How do I do that?

Thanks!

With the original SPV is you stick an unformatted SD card in, the phone asks whether you want to format it?

Can't see why the e200 would be different.

Davidrm suggestion is the best though.

I have just got a Sandisk 512mb SD card and it worked fine as soon as I put it in. No need to format.

Smartphoner: If you put it in your phone and it works then just leave it.... if it doesn't, try formatting it :)

Thank you all.

The thing is that I can see the SD Card is ok in the System Info of the Task Manager on my E200.

But when I try to store something it does not work.

On my E200 it says "Invalid path".

And when I try to copy something from my desktop, it says "Access is denied. Make sure your mobile device has sufficient memory, that the file is not set as read only, and that you have permission to copy this file type."

So, how do I do that format thing?

Thanks

Should be working OK. Is the card write protected? (little sliding switch on sd cards on/off - not on MMCs)

Thanks for the advise (I forgot to check that!), but anyway, still, not working, same error :)

Any other idea?

thanks again

I forgot to say that everything looks ok if I go to the Sistem Info of the Task Manager of my E200, I can see the SD Card has been recognized, but still get the mentioned errors when trying to write.

Does anybody know anything about formatting SD cards?

In Task Manager there should be an option in one of the menus to format the card (forgotten which one sorry, just look in the menus;)) :)
