But when you run this app (On an E200) nothing happens. It flashes "MapToGo 2.00" in the upper left hand corner of screen but thats about it... have I missed something? or has anyone got this app running?

Please tell me, that - Did you use the shortcut or a file manager to start? - What is the name of yor SD/MMC card? Storage Card? - How much free memory do you have (Settings/About)? Will try to give an urgent fix.
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 Hi, I downloaded the demo onto my E100 with no problems at all, it ran from the shortcut (but did not ask me where to install to :) ) Cant see how you download maps, the map included is just like opening the UK atlas and standing about 10 feet back :D, dont get me wrong its all there but verry poor detail Anyone know what the full version is like :?: dont mind paying if it is good or does anyone know where the manufacturers web site is :?:
Guest shadamehr Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 I have exactly the same problem on my E200... Downloaded the trial, copied the cab to my phone, ran the installer. Installed fine. But when I click the Action button to run it, all that happens is that Map2Go appears very briefly in my Taskbar/TitleBar at the top. Nothing more. Specs: E200 Orange Standard 8MB SD card, with around 4MB free. Around 9 to 10MB free on my Internal Storage...

Installation directory is Storage CardMapToGo. You need an SD/MMC card, and an application unlocked phone. Please tell me details about your phone. You can send it directly to [email protected].

Release a program (without bl**dy testing it) that is "free" until 1/1/2004 and it doesnt work on new phones (i.e. E200). Please take the time to work the bugs out, and get your maps sorted and made available before releasing publicly. There is enough half-baked (i.e. pocketMusic, what a joke!) software out there already. We need quality. We've been waiting for an app like this, so please make the effort to make it worth purchasing and using more than once! Its all about *QUALITY*.

Any help on this would be great.... =========================================== The CAB file is not a zipped file, though you can open it with a compression program it is not meant to install that way as it is a self installer. To install: Using ActiveSync, place the CAB file on your storage card. On the phone using a File Explorer program like SmartExplore, navigate to the file and click on it, it will install the program on your phone. For more info/options regarding CAB files, please see the FAQ section of this site or do a search. ========================================= As far as the program goes, now that I can actually get it to run, I am VERY disappointed as I thought it was much more. There are no street level maps. No offense to the developer, but I can do the same thing by viewing bitmaps or jpgs while zooming and panning via a photo program that I already have. The ideal mapping program I am looking for is one that zooms all the way down to street and address levels using a vector based system like PocketStreets on the PPC. Sorry to say but I would not recommend this program at any price...including free. certainly NOT US$20.00!!! Sorry I'm a bit harsh, but it's true.

They have a number of other major cities as well but only the subway maps (NYC, Paris, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, Hong Kong, Brussels, ++) There's No Trial at Handango, So I can't really comment on it in person, I've not played with it. Guest Tim Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 I paid for the world map on Handango without realising that MapToGo was a different product that I also needed to buy. I haven't received an activation code and have asked Handango for a refund for both these reasons but they have ignored me for about a week. Does anyone know if Handango ever give refunds ?
