I bought the MPX200, unlocked it and am using T-Mobile service. I can browse the internet but cannot get my email to work. Any suggestions? I checked with T-Mobile and was informed if my email was of the free kind (msn, hotmail, yahoo) it was not compatible and I could therefore not access it on my phone. Any suggestions (such as another email provider, etc)? :?:

There are certain e-mail services that can't be used that much is true... and the biggest of these is Hotmail, because it is a HTTP mail service... But in general if your mail provider is POP3 or IMAP then there is no reason why U can't pick it up on your phone, all U need is the server settings...

So short answer is any e-mail provider that is POP3 or IMAP will be OK for U...

I have T-Mobile and I get my email - no problemo.

You need your pop and smtp settings, and your user name and password. Also, you need to set your connection settings.

In programs-->Settings-->Data Connections:

Internet Connection: AWS GPRS

Work Connection: Auto

WAP Connection: AWS GPRS

Should work. Let me know....

I don't see why you can't just browse mobile msn and check your hotmail or whatever web based email you have. you said it yourself that you can browse the internet.

If you are US T-mob just login into the the T-mob site and you can set up your pop email with a wizard under t-mobile. I set up my attglobal that way. Works fine. Outgoing server needs to be set to t-mob.

I was originally with ATT, but I now have my phone unlocked and have T-mobile. Here are my settings for checking my yahoo! email:

Data Connections:

GRPS Connections:

Name: T-Zones

Connects to: Internet

Access Point: wap.voicestream.com

User Name:

Password:

Primary DNS: 216.155.165.50

Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0

IP Address:

Internet Connection: T-Zones

Work Connection: None Available

Wap Connection: Automatic

Secure WAP Connection: None Available

Internet Explorer Options/Connections:

Automatically detect Settings :

Select Network: WAP Network

then for the internet site that I go to I have wap.yahoo.com

I dont quite understand how it could work if you have it set at AWS (b/c that is ATT). Please explain. Also, while I am able to check my yahoo! email, I am unable to reply or compose, actually I can reply and compose, but when I click the "send" link, nothing happens. Anybody know why? So anyway - if you just want to check your yahoo! email, try the above settings. Also, please bear in mind that this is thru the free wap service that T-mobile offers, I do not have the $4.99 or the $19.99 plan (which I guess could maybe be why I can send email?)
