Guest urdone311 Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 I'm currently an SPV user in Los Angeles, and I am dying to get an E200 despite the bugs. Apparently orange will unlock a Pay as you go phone for 20 pounds? If so is there any way i could purchase a pay as you go and have it it unlocked by orange to have it work on ATT here in the U.S.? If anyone has any ideas on how I could do this, it would be appreciated. (and no, i don't want to spend the $700.00 on the phone that that mobile toys website or whatever has it listed for!!) Thanks! Joe
Guest chanceu Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 Check eBay. Search for XPhone. There's a guy (his username is x1387) selling them for around $450. I'm pretty sure they are being shipped from Asia. I got one and upgraded the ROM using the Orange UK upgrade and it works great. There's also a place one the Web (located in Las Vegas) selling the i-Mate SmartPhone2 for $599 (http://www.gsmphonesource.com/products/customer/home.php?cat=17)
Guest Jay247 Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 Also, on the Orange Developers Site you can order a completely unlocked version for a similar price. Have a look at http://ora.co.uk/orangeSPV/ P.S.: So tell me, urdone311, do the US mobile operators now with with SIM cards as well? I remember my Nikoa 5160 didn't, all I got was a NAM.
