Guest andysalmon Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 Just took my sim out for the 3rd or 4th time and the lugs holding the card in have broken off. Will now have to get a new phone or live with an extra piece of paper stuck onto the card to hold it in. Anyone else had this problem?
Guest cheekymonkey Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 Ditto here guys. I now hold it in with little pieces of blu tack, not the best really but it does work. Now I'm waiting to find a really thin piece of metal that I can fashion into a clip.
Guest equis Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Is that kind of wear and tear covered by the insurance coverage? If so I would get it fixed and specifically ask them to fix the orginal phone and not give you a refurbished unit.
Guest webcash Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Me also mate and i think this will spell the end of it.Best phone i ever had but i need it unlocked and cant be doing with an obvious design fault GUTTED
Guest CPhoenix Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Add me to that list guys... and I hadn't ever removed my SIM Card until now when my whole phone phucked up on me.
Guest maggot Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 add me to that list too my lil bit pf paper seems to do the trick thou not ideal but for the amount of times i open it up i will live with it tis crap thou :|
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 I have just removed the SIM for the first time and noticed two small pieces of plastic on the table #-o They looked more like a pieces of swarf than the lugs for the SIM holder, until I looked more closely  not a happy bunny
Guest Shuflie Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I've had my SIM in and out of the phone a few times now without any problems, I think that what must be happening is that you have all been lifting the SIM up at the front edge after sliding the clip back. I just let it pop up slightly and slide it forward, doing it this way doesn't put any pressure on the two clips holding it in at the back. Not a great design feature but works fine if you take a bit of care.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Nope all I did was slide the clip back and let the SIM fall out. the clips are so slim you could almost mistake them for flakes of paint.
Guest ixtab Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Same here. and I as well simply let the SIM fall/slide by itself by tilting the phone so it's not "my faullt" Anyways, some tape and the SIM's in place.
