Guest pisquee Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 Although, my idea failed, I figues that I may aswell put out details, so people don't waste time doing the same thing, and it also says something interesting about the way the OS works. As we can see on the 1.6 update it is now possible to send SMS to most of the phone numbers of a contacts profile. so test one take random phone number (Home Phone 2), and copy the mobile number there, but miss off the + so it will match the number displayed by the delivery report - so when report comes through it will pick up the contact name. Did Not Work Aha, I thought, maybe this didn't work because the delivery report still only looks at the number of the mobile phone field, so swapped the numbers over so that the mobile number didn't start with plus and the home phone 2 number does, and then send it to the Home Phone 2 contact. Still no luck So, from this it seems that the Delivery Report part of the software, either does not look at the address book at all, or has some kind of error in it.
Guest mike-oh Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 I'm guessing it doesn't look at all! The same as if someones number crops up in a text it doesn't look that up either (i think).
