How do you turn off beep when adding text message contacts

I know there is a way to stop the REALLY annoying BEEP that occurs when adding contacts to the 'To' box of the new message screen because I found a way some time ago....... until I did the latest ROM update, my phone was silent on pushing the action button (I know you can do 'Menu' 'Insert Contact' - but I dont want to do it tha way because

1)I am so used to pushing the action button now

2)More importantly, I know there is a way to stop that beep!

Does anyone know how to stop it??

If I remember correctly, there was a cab file to install, or a sound file that took over the original BEEP...........

PLEASE HELP MY SANITY IS AT STAKE HERE. :x

The 1.6 update solves this. otherwise there is a Reg Tweak around somewhere that i used pre-update.

It was when I installed the 1.6 update that the beep re-appeared, so I'm not too sure that the 1.6 update solves the problem!?

As I said in the first post it was either a cab file or a new sound file or a reg tweak that solved the problem first time

I had searched all over for 'SMS BEEP ANNOYING' but got nothing.... but replacesound was the cab file I had used before.

Just downloaded it, installed it, then restarted the phone. and after a quick test I am completely 'BING'less
