Winner: Media Player Home Plugin

Congratulations to: orangewinger

Second: MoDaCo SmartRun (Paul [MVP])

Third : Modaco Smart Journal (Paul [MVP] and SpaceMonkey)

Judges Comments:

Media Player Home Plugin:

It looks pretty cool only taking up a small portion of the homescreen. This is an indispensable tool for those who love their mobile music, highly recommended.
The Media Player Plug-in is what I’ve always wanted. I listen to music constantly on my Smartphone and being able to skip around tracks from the home screen makes me giddy with happiness.

A top notch idea, well excecuted & delivered, & well supported throughout!! Good work that fella!!
MoDaCo SmartRun:

Indispensable for new phone owners who are not sure about installing new software, and handy for us experts!

You just right click on the .CAB file on your PC and select "Send to Smartphone and Run" which is very convinient.
MoDaCo Smart Journal:

The Journal Viewer is just an awesome solid program. It logs all my calls in the journal, I can view my notes in IE. Thats awesome.

Smart Journal has a sweet install process and basically worked flawlessly.
General Judges Comments:

Commiserations to the other entries - none of them were bad, far from it, it was a difficult choice! & I hope that each one continues to get support from the forum, coz they were all great ideas!

All the apps definitely had their benefits, and I can certainly see how each application would add value to Smartphone users.
What fun! lets make this a regular competition

On behalf of MoDaCo:

Congratulations to all the Entrants, especially Orangewinger. Personally ALL of the new applications released for this competition have a role in enchancing your smartphone.

Thank you to all the judges, for taking the time to test each entry, and providing the feedback and comments.

We had a great response from the judges, who ranged from new users, to those high up in Microsoft!

Will and Awarner

(we collated and chose the judges, the first Paul knew about the result was when it was announced on IRC!! )

Well, I guess I should be making a winners speech now...

"Firstly, I'm orangewinger not a whinger at all! Secondly I'd like to thank my parents..."

I'm very pleased to accept the award and after a weekend being in bed with the flu it's something good to wake upto!

I'm very much looking forward to seeing some funky homescreens using the plugin.

I am going to be writing some more plugins next year, so at least this competition has spurred me on to get creative!

Any closer to chasing down the bug which makes the homescreen freeze, notably on the MPx200's?

I've managed to get it to happen on an E100 so hopefully I will have an update ready in the new year.
