Guest kevlar Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 I haven't seen anyone else mention this but it is pissing me off. It must be affecting other people too. Here goes; Your phone is in you pocket when it rings, and during the fumble to get it out to answer it the joystick gets depressed and answers the call. It may be a few more seconds before you get the phone to your ear, and the caller is thinking ' WTF is going on here?'. Now I haven't got ' answer any key on '. So basically I'm saying I don't want the joystick to answer the call, but there is nothing I can do about it. Sort it out please orange. Kevlar
Guest meatgrinder Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 well, the thing that pisses me off about my normal spv is that when i answer a call, the mic doesnt kick in until a few seconds (maybe 2) after i press the green button. this leaves me sayi8ng "hi" several times before the person on the other end hears me, meanwhile i can hear them! pisses me off a LOT Dave
Guest xmob Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Yeah, I was getting really miffed over the weekend because my phone was answering itself in less that one ring. I was missing calls because of this. I spent ages trying to work out what was wrong, looking for auto answer settings and stuff. I worked it out in the end. I was using my original SPV case. The phone is a little tight in there so the joystick was permanantly pressed. Might explain my battery life too.
Guest bikespod Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 Kevlar, mine does this too. I can't believe that removing the thing from my pocket presses the soft key, then unlock and then the green phone key!!! I think this is a fault with the key lock feature, it never happened on my first spv.
Guest benzo Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 I am so glad I returned my e200!!!! It just seems to be one of the most buggy phones ever produced!
Guest shadamehr Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 Guys - all of you... you are ALL right... I've had my phone answer twice recently when in my pocket despite keylock on. Its a bit embarrasing when colleagues say "whats that noise" and you listen, and you can hear your girlfriend screaming "hello, hello" from inside your pocket... Let me make this really clear how significant this is... Look at my signature line below... How long it is.... How many different phones I've owned... Then consider that the E200 is the first phone EVER that has done this to me. That's as shocking as it is significant. As for the other points, you've just explained something to me guys... Nearly every call I answer, people were starting by saying "hello? Hello?" repeatedly. Now I know why - the microphone MY end takes too long to kick in after I click to answer the call - so my first and normal "hello" response was going missed by the caller, and they didn't know if I had answered or not. So it seems that even as a simple plain everyday phone, the E200 is crap.
