Guest nickcornaglia Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Do you guys get The Sopranos out there on HBO? If so, os ot pretty popular?
Guest Coucou Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 It's on Channel 4, Terrestial, and something else on Satellite/Cable, and yes it's pretty popular - but always on at about 11pm so I never watch it. :)
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 It's probably the best TV programme ever made, but as Coucou points out, due to its marginal scheduling it only gets a limited audience. This is a major problem over here. We used to get Larry Sanders & Seinfeld too but they were only ever shown after 11pm. Are they showing the final series of the Sopranos over there now ? :D Is 6 Feet Under even better (I sometimes think so :) ) ? What are you sending us next ?
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Nip/Tuck and Jake 2.0 seem to be what they're "sending us over" lol. Downloaded an episode of both an dim quite impressed :!: Soprano's is the Daddy and is mostly on E4 at ungodly hours in the the morning - still its worth the watch if your a "thug fantatic" like myself :) :!:
Guest Coucou Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 I think there's some humour that doesn't travel well over the pond. I couldn't actually understand why people laughed at Seinfeld or Sanders. I do like some American comedy but more the stand-up stuff.
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Def Jam Comedy - now thats where the great comedy is - cant get enough of the stuff :!:
Guest morpheus2702 Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 The Sopranos has been the best TV import in years in my opinion. Great sense of humour which transcends cultural differences: "He says you sniffed her panties" "Hey T, when he's got a ring on her finger I'll respect that. Til then..." "You idiot, he was a soldier with the interior ministry" "What? What did you say?" "What did T say?" "He said he was an interior decorator" "Really? His apartment looked shitty". I think it went off the boil a bit in season 4, but at least its better than endless Sex in the City repeats on Channel 4.
