Guest jochenf Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Hi, my SPV (latest UK ROM) is connected via USB cable with my notebook, and I have installed the HTC modem driver. I have no problems opening a GPRS connection to my carrier (T-Mobile Germany), but when I try to use a GSM data connection (to T-Online), the modem hangs up during the ppp handshake (at least it seems so), although exactly the same dial-up connection works on the phone itself. I am wondering if this is the same problem described here: http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=87410 Anyone aware of a solution to that problem? Thanks, Jochen
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 what OS do you have on your PC? The modem drivers only works with Win XP and 2k
Guest jochenf Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 I use Windows 2003. But I think the driver might not be the problem, because a GPRS connection is working fine (with the right modem initialization command), only GSM data connects cause a problem. Thanks, Jochen
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Windows 2003? do you have on your PC Windows XP or 2k or is it the server edition 2003 you have? Just checking as I said above the modem drivers for the SPV are for XP and 2000 only.
Guest jochenf Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 Windows Server 2003 Std. Edition. Jochen
