Guest Crispy Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Hehe, how fun! ... tons of text saying "trial software" ... but no links for it :)
Guest blewer Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 I thought I was going mad when I couldn't find any links. Sounds like great app :)
Guest seaflipper Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 I thought I was going mad when I couldn't find any links. Sounds like great app :D You have to look *really* hard at the screen where it says "14 day trial" and then after 45 seconds, the words "14 Day Trial" transitions into the words "Download Now" with a hyperlink. If you blink your eyes, the transition doesn't happen and you can't restart it. It's a one time thing :)
Guest rcperez Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 cant w8 for it all day for it to produce the links, kinda lame if you ask me. Could someone post the links thanks
Guest midnight Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 i've mailed them about the demo, expecting a reply soon, i'll post here when i know more :)
Guest A.Hughes Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 must have blinked an eye!!!!!! how they expect to have a successful launch and make some dosh if you have to play david blane to get to the hyperlink........is it some sort of joke!!!!!!!!!1 I,ll just wait i suppose
Guest yoos Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 Looks like they changed their site.... It's available in the dropdown now...
Guest A.Hughes Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 off to have a nose......... 8)
Guest midnight Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 yes, its now available from their website, here is the reply i got.... The trial version of VOXit Mailer for SmartPhone 2002 is now available from www.equivox.uk.com In relation to this trial software, please note the following: 1) This trial version of VOXit Mailer is only for devices running MS Smartphone 2002 2) It comprises a subset of the full feature-set that will be available with the GA release 3) It will only run on unlocked devices 4) A version that will run on locked devices will be available in February 2004 5) Further details are provided in the read-me file (contained within the download) A generally available version of the application (with full and complete featureset) is scheduled to be available in January 2004 Thanks for the quick reply guys :)
Guest midnight Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 erm, first use and had a few issues that i'd like to bring to equivox's attention.... i received a mail and my phone half locked up (joystick stopped responding, other buttons seemed ok) dont know if this is coincidence or what rebooted phone to fix above problem, went back into voxit mailer and it didnt list my inbox at all options screen, well, doesnt seem to exist (i couldnt open it anyways) selected 'listening off' (just in case all menus weren't working) and it repeatedly said 'listening mode off', so had to reboot phone again. and third time i tried it and it now says 'trial expired' (that was a quick 15 days :)) i did actually get it to speak 1 mail to me, and it worked well, so this app has potential, just seems VERY buggy at the moment :D
Guest rcperez Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 will it also work for sms messages?
Guest Odd Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Well...I just installed this baby - no problems with that - both PC and phone tells me it worked out ok. ..then I tried to start it.... Nothing. I clicked the app again... - this time i get half a second of waiting icon, and then - nothing. I started my taskmanager - no app running. So - there you go - I dont even get an error. This app is a joke - at least so far. That´s my 5 cents :) ..it DID uninstall just fine though... *crowd goes wild*
Guest Odd Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 WHoah - a little update... ..I posted equivox support about this and got this reply from [email protected]: "This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Delivery to the following recipients failed. [email protected]" ok.... hmmmm :) - lets hope they just rushed things when they did their support page. Glad I didn´t pay for that app :D
Guest Scarfman007 Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Yeah - it doesn't exactly work, does it? At least not for me . . . Did take quie a while to install though - lots of files to do nothing. Scarfman EDIT: Apparently we must install it in the default directory (guessing that means on the phone) and no way am I having any programs take up that much space on my ISPM!
Guest midnight Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 yes, currently it must be installed to the phone for it to work :)
Guest Odd Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Install to the phone... ..I thought that was what I did when I ran their installer and the app turns up on my phone... ..? Do you mean i have to move the .cab file onto my phone and install it from there? If you got it to work - please post a short how-to here - I cant be the only one who would like to know just HOW you got that app to work :D oh - and happy new year too :)
Guest midnight Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 no, i mean when it asks do you want to install to the phone or the storage card, make sure you install to the phone :)
Guest Odd Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 I installed it to the phone as I do not have a memorycard for my phone - didnt get one as I bought the developers version (no card included) ..so what else did I do wrong :) (thanks for the fast reply!)
Guest fraser Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 no, i mean when it asks do you want to install to the phone or the storage card, make sure you install to the phone :) LOL. Do they have a test department? That's like the most common mess-up you can do in software, i.e. hard-coded paths. Tsk Tsk!! Has anyone gotten any success with this app yet?
Guest midnight Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 only me it seems, i just installed, rebooted, launched it and it worked (kind of :))
Guest Odd Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 Good News! A developer responded to my emails and told me the current Vox-it trial only works with 2002 smartphones... (no kidding) ..but they will release a 2003 trial before the end of this month! Alright! So lets keep an eye on their site! :) // O.
