Anyone want to flash this WM 2003 image to their mpx200?

Any reason why this wouldnt work? You can flash the image from an SD card so there shouldnt be any checking on the hardware. Since the mpx200 rom is available you could flash back if this doesnt work right.

Yes, this rom is hardware specific, as is any smartphone or PPC rom image, in this its the Red eye developer phone. That's why Microsoft don't release updates to any of their WM products directly, they have to be customised for each device that they are intended for by the manufacturer.

Yes, customized as in adding their own features and software to rom, and configuring all the settings. Microsoft has pretty specific guidelines for the smartphone hardware... I dont see how it can be ruled out that this wouldnt run at all, even with missing features.

Well not entirely, customising the OS for MPX is far more difficult. For exmaple they'd have to add hardware specific drivers and modules for the external LCD and the flip answer. Features the SC110 or the SPV series do not have.

Sorry man, it was just a thought. Besides, I couldnt have tried it out as I have a CDMA smartphone.

But seriously, even if none of the stuff worked, including the phone functions, would it still install and run the OS?

Nope as I said the update IS hard ware specific as it alters the phones

bootloader and this is specific to the model of phone.
