Guest cyrilthefish Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 just a quick thing, is it possible to delete a file using a a CAB installer? I'm busy making an uber-CAB file (hey, an actual use for the supplied 8mb SD card) that installs all the reg settings/ringtones/homesceens/programs and shortcuts i use (1.3mb and rising so far! eek). so far the only thing i now need to get the phone to how i want it it is to move or delete a couple of shortcuts from the start menu... is there any way to do this with a CAB file or not? I can only find ways to add files, not delete or move them...
Guest ChrisJM Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 thats a good question, i hav only ever added files sorry
Guest Matt Kirby Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 AFAIK it can only be done progmatically, either with software on the phone, or remotely from a PC.
Guest outthere Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 You can do things like remove settings or favourites using the NOCHARACTERISTIC tag, but I've not been able to find a decent reference on the FILEOPERATION elements. I'd be interested to know if anyone has a better reference for that. FYI, MSDN : Configuration Service Providers, The MS reference for the _setup.xml Larry
