Guest cleandemon Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 I'm very impressed with the new found speed of my e100 following the update, but what I'm not so impressed by is the fact that three times since I updated, I have had the phone go into some kind of reset process where it looks a bit like a hard reset and says something about the IPSM. When it finally reboots it is app locked again, and has lost settings such as registry tweaks and homescreen settings, but retains all my installed programs and sms etc. Any ideas what the hell is causing this to happen?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 This should only happen as part of the initial installreset process unless you have a dodgy app you have installed causing this?
Guest cleandemon Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 I don't think so. Perhaps I'm not making it clear. The phone works fine since the update most of the time, but every so often it does this reset thingy. (3 times since I updated on the 10th)
Guest SPVDave Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 Same for me. Since I upgraded I have lost my settings three times. On boot up it displays the same IPSM checking that it shows during the upgrade. Then it resets again, and has lost most of my stuff. I would love to know how to sort this. I've seen something that says if you are short of free space on the phone it fails to copy the registry correctly (which it does on each boot), and therefore resets. But I think I've got enough space. I have installed two apps, but store them on the SD Card. Anyways, getting used to setting up everything time and time again.
Guest Will Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 do you let the battery get very low.. this can cause a partial hard reset as you are suggesting... also many email attachments can fill a LOT of the phone.. again with the partial reset being the end result. Will
Guest SPVDave Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 I don't normally let the battery got too low. I charge it each night and it's about half way down in the evening, sometimes down to one bar. I just don't think the phone likes me turning it off. Maybe it's scarred that I won't turn it back on again. It wouldn't be quite so bad loosing all my settings now and again if only it where possible to back-up the whole thing. I know O are supposed to be releasing something soon, along with the update, but it's seems to be late.
Guest cleandemon Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Ok, it's happened again and I am getting pretty sick of it to be honest. I definitely didn't have low battery, not many emails, but my SD card was pretty full of music etc. Does anyone have any ideas?
Guest cleandemon Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 And again. This time whilst receiveing a call. I have my registry tweaked to store custom ringtones for contacts on my SD card. Help!
