Guest WillyBig1983 Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 Hi All I work for Orange and through this site and playing around in store i decided to go for the MPX200. I loved and cherished this phone with all my heart for 5 weeks...it was the best thing since Jenna Haze DVD's....but then disaster struck. My friend had to have an exchange on his within 2 days as it was taking 15-20mins to power on, the once it did it told him his home screen was invalid (even though it was standard), a few of the menu bits came up but nothing could be pressed, i shrugged this off to just ONE faulty handset BUT yesterday exactly the same thing happened on mine, and apparently to lots of other Orange customers. Is this me or is it the start of a rocky road???? I dont want a repeat of the SPV...please god NOOOOOOOO!!!!
Guest paulie-mafia Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 You know what - I've had my mpx200 for 10 days and yesterday it packed in completely! Battery life had been really poor for 2 days - an overnight charge would get you 20 minutes talktime - and then it died. Even when you have the charger connected the phone gets to the second boot screen before it just switches itself off. Now I'm using a Sony J5.... My Dad was going to get the same phone a couple of days after me, but the assistant in the Orange shop advised him against it - citing a large number of customer returns on the grounds of handset failures. Seems pretty obvious that there's either a design fault or faulty batch of Moto's out there. I hadn't touched Moto since I foolishly bought a V-Series a few years back and I had such high hopes for this phone.
