Guest lukeyboy Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 I bought a pair of external speakers and adapter for my SPV , pluged everything in , its works but now theres no sound from the phone , it appears to be set to headphones and its locked . I cannot untick the headphone setting in profiles to change to the normal setting. Any ideas guy's ? Right... argh.... f******g ocs.... f*****g HTC... Sorry, breathe deeply. Ok, I had this problem about 2 months into having my spv. Did you know that if you blow really hard down the hole it fies the problem in some cases? Well its worked for several people on here, and it worked for me (after calling OCS - they said do a hard reset - arghhhh.... Well, about 4-5 months later after flawless use (bugs excepted), it then got stuck again. Alas the blowing trick didnt work. So a quick jab with a cocktail stick fixed it. Then a few weeks later it went wrong again. Finally sent it off, came back unfixed due to 'water dammage' - yeah right. Anyway, the moral. Blowing works wonders (but hey don't we all know that 8) ) but you really should return it to get it fixed. Its a common bug on the phone, so phone OCS and shout enough until they send you a replacement (its a faulty design). Just had to buy a new phone off a user on here (cheers Shaun) and hope I don't get that problem again...
Guest rickt Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 Ta for your reply, I bought this thing second hand , and within days I had upgraded it, UN-SIM locked it, and then DE-CERT 'ed it, I dont think sending to Orange will do me any good. I'm only just finding theses bugs and things out now, I suppose us SPV owners have to put up with them .Anyway I had tried to reset the sound profile without much luck but on the last time I removed the battery, and on re-boot the profile has gone to normal. If it happens again I try your little trick except I get the wife to do it ,cos she's good at blowing..........:-)
