Guest morpheus2702 Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 Anyone else had this? Recently did the 1.6 update on my E100. Now it seems that every time I power off/on, the SMS alert resets to Alarm 2 (hardly the most attention grabbing sound). Did a search but to no avail.
Guest morpheus2702 Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 * bump * And it also seems that the e-mail alert defaults to Alarm 1.
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 I've had this with all ROMs, although all the tones are changed to Alarm 1 or "Flint" which is at the top of the list when using SmartTones. It usually seems to happen when a game I'm playing crashes or some other fault occurs. Makes no sense to me but fortunately it happens so rarely as to make it a real problem..
Guest justafeind Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 i get it too but cant stop it do you konw ANYONE??????????????????????? ](*,) [-o
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 this is what I do... Use PHM Registry Editor...go to HKCU > Control Panel > Sounds > SMS...click Values > Sound Enter the complete path of the wav file (example: Storage CardTonessms.wav) you wish to set as your SMS tone in the Value Data box. Restart phone.
Guest ore Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 Does your sms wav file stored on the storage card? Does this thing happen when you're running out of battery? If so, what happen is, when your battery runs out or low and you receive an sms your phone will play the default tone (same thing happens with the ringtone and to other alerts), because wav files usually uses more power than midi especially if the wav files are stored on the storage card. And when this thing happen the result will be it will revert back to default tone. Solution: Don't let your battery run out too low. When you're prompted that your running out of battery, charge it.
