Guest centerman Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 I'm an AT&T WS (US) user with a question: I typically have the phone on vibrate (don't like bothering people with rings) and am wondering if there's a way to change the vibrate cadence. I'd like to have calls vibrate one way and SMS vibrate another so that I don't have to check my phone everytime I get a game score update. I've tried changing the underlying ringtone, hoping that the vibration function was somehow tied to that - no luck. thanks in advance, gary
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Welcome to the site :) What should happen is when the phone recieves an SMS it will vibrate once, then when you have a call it will continue to cycle the vibrate notification. Apart from that there is not really an option to change how it pulses etc for each notification.
Guest centerman Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Hmm. I've noticed the second cycle on the call, but it's a little long for my tastes. Is there any way to shorten the cycle time so I don't have to wait so long before deciding it's a call? gary
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Ok found a solution with the help of the ArtyTweaker Dude (midnight) Donload PHM Regedit from www.monolithix.org now you can edit the registry and do the following Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USERControlPanelSoundCategoriesNotifications Click on Values and select Script Now change the Value Data to v1w1v1w1v1 This will change your vibrate notifications to vibrate 1 sec wait 1 sec Vibrate 1 sec etc but keep your incoming call vibrate unchanged.
Guest centerman Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Awesome! Thanks, both of you. gary
