Guest smeg36 Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 I just moved, and I barely don't get coverage at my house. I can get a signal a couple miles down the road, then I loose it. I am looking into getting an external antenna, but I have no idea what size the hole on the back of my SPV is. Can anyone give me a size? Is there a number, or where can I get one? I tried Radioshack, but they didn't have any that fit properly. Also, would the Radioshack external antenna work, or do I need something a bit larger? A second question, I am thinking about getting a MPx200. Does it have an external port? Thanks.
Guest aristoBrat Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 This doesn't answer any of your ?'s, but FWIW, I had a MPx200 and its reception was way way way worse than my SPV e100's. Maybe that wont' matter if you can find an external antenna solution, but ... I was really bummed out because I wanted a flip phone! :)
Guest smeg36 Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Really, the reception was worse? I was thinking it might be better because it was newer, but I guess I was wrong. How does the E100's reception compare with the Canary's? Anyone know?
Guest aristoBrat Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Really, the reception was worse? I know you're not supposed to compare signal bars to signal bars (on different phones), but .... :) I work in a weak RF-signal area. The MPx200 got NO SIGNAL (i.e. couldn't do anything with it). The SPV e100 gets 1-2 bars, ... no problems using it.
Guest flhash Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 this may help you ..... External Aerial
Guest smeg36 Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Thanks for the link, but I already have my MPx200 now, so I can't use any external antenna anymore. Guess I will just have to wait for T-Mobile to increase their coverage.
