SPV Passthrough

Since I've upgraded to the 1.6.1.10 rom from the Orange site, I've noticed that passthrough doesn't seem to be automatic (maybe it never was, and I've not noticed before). But if I have my Data connection set to OrangeGPRS when the phone is in the cradle, every time it tries to sync with my MMIS server, the phone states 'Cannot connect using current settings, use passthrough instead?' clicking OK allows the sync to work. I don't remember it asking me before, but then I tend to swap between my iPAQ and smartphone and haven't used it for a while!!

Any thoughts?

I thought the data connection spinner had to be set to automatic for the phone to use pass through in cradle and GPRS off cradle. Mine works fine following the guide over at coolsmartphone.com (you have to edit the some WAP setting if I remember correctly)
