Guest ferret Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I thought the operators had the same GPRS settings regardless of handset. Have you tried a search for the GPRS repositry?
Guest rizasli Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 umm.. eh.. whats a gprs repositry?!! and yeah.. the providers DO have the same settings.. but u know.. the smartphones too confusing for em! hehe.. like.. they dunno what setting to type where! so is there a way i could get the settings? and yet again, whats a gprs repositry lol.
Guest martin Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Hi rizasli I found some Ufone settings on this site http://www.ufone.com/gprsconfiginfo.htm :) I noticed that there are different Access Points Names for different regions so hopefully your provider gave you the right settings. I have put some information together and used the Post Paid APN's as an example. You will need to change these APN's to match the APN's created on your account by the network provider. APN For Post Paid: ufone.piinternet or ufone.piwap APN For Islamabad Prepaid Customers: ufone.wap or ufone.internet APN For Lahore Prepaid Customers: ufone.plinternet or ufone.plwap APN For Karachi Prepaid Customers: ufone.pkinternet or ufone.pkwap Goto Internet Explorer Menu-Option-Connections and tick 'Automatically detect settings' Goto Programs - Settings - Data Connections Menu - Edit connections Create GPRS connection for the Internet service Description: GPRS Internet Connects to: The Internet Access point: ufone.internet User name: ufone Password: ufone Primary DNS: Secondary DNS: IP address: In data connections make 'Internet Connection: GPRS Internet' IF you have subscribed to the Ufone Internet service then you should now be able to access all WEB sites. Try accessing http://www.google.com Next create a proxy server connection Programs - Settings - Data Connections Menu - Edit connections Create proxy connection Description: WAP proxy Connects from: The Internet Connects to: WAP network Proxy (name:port): 172.016.013.026 Type: WAP Username: blank Password: blank Create GPRS connection for WAP service (this APN may be restricted to WML pages) Description: GPRS WAP Connects to: The Internet Access point: ufone.wap User name: ufone Password: ufone Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0 Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 IP address: In data connections make 'WAP connection: GPRS WAP' Try accessing wsp://www.google.com/wml Ufone WAP homesite is wsp://wap.ufone.com Good luck :D
