Guest HelloDave Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Aplologies if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find it anywhere. On my bill this month I noticed several calls to Orange numbers listed incorrectly as "Other Mobile Network"; one call that should have been free cost me £5! I called OCS and apparently between the 17th and 25th (IIRC) November there was a problem identifying the origin of numbers with 07791 or 2 prefixes, which resulted in some Orange numbers being listed as belonging to "other networks". Acccording to the OCS guy I spoke to it only affected 1/50th of customers (lucky me!) and was due to lightning/vandalism of the main and backup number databases (how do you vandalise a database; spray the hard drive??). It's worth checking your bill because O will refund the cost of any incorrectly listed numbers, regardless of whether the calls were part of your free minutes or not. Natrually, being O, they are incapable of searching for any affected numbers/bills, so you have to list the phone numbers that are wrong and then call OCS and tell them  Hope that made sense - it's been a long day :) Basically, have a look at your bill, and if any calls you made to an Orange phone are listed as "Other mobile network", note the number and tell O to get a refund on the cost of the call.
Guest Will Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 cheers Andy, i'll request another itemised bill. Will
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Nice one mate - goo dof you to tell us that. Orange have cocked up my bill before so I always triple check it and keep a strict call history. spacecowboy
Guest Shaks Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 I had this same problem calling my wife who was away for a couple of weeks so I was making plenty of calls. Her number is a 07792 number. I was billed around 50 pounds extra than I should have. O have supposed to have credited me back but not checked properly yet.
