Guest tbrwolf1 Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Through the wonderful regisrty tweaks posted here I have been able to change the default spalsh screens on boot-up, but was wondering if there is a way to change the time they are displayed. Currently they seem to be there for a long time... I noted in the registry a 2 values under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/SPLASHSCREEN that say CarrierShutdownTimeout and MSShutdownTimeout both of which have a Decimal value of 1280. Would decreasing these numbers do anything?
Guest midnight Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 both of these are the shutdown timeouts (one for each shutdown screen), its best to leave these alone, as these timeouts are used so the phone can safely shutdown. As for startup, the startup screens are displayed as the phone is starting up/loading all necessary apps etc. and so it isnt really possible to change the times these are displayed.
Guest tbrwolf1 Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Thanks Midnight! That's pretty much what I suspected and wasn't brave enought to try changing it. Thanks for the great tweaks too!
Guest daviesimpson Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I tried altering them, seemed to make bootup & shutdown longer. I reset them back to there original values.
