Guest ospre Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Hello, I'm using a Orange SPV E200 and I've subscribed to one of the Orange World Access packs. I'm having trouble with my internet settings and need to make sure that I'm accessing the internet via GPRS and not some other method that I'll be charged for. Please can somebody give me a steer as to how to check the settings so that when the next bill comes through it won't show zero usage on GPRS and lots of usage in some other chargable area. Also my previous phone was a Nokia 7110e and I'm having trouble accessing some of the WAP sites that I used to access on that machine, specifically "Where's My Nearest", if I enter the old WAP address into IE on the E200 it returns just a blank page and nothing happens, can anybody give me a steer? Thanks, Nick.
Guest martin Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Welcome ospre The Orange World Access pack includes use of the APN orangeinternet. Check that Settings-Data connections has 'Internet Connection: Orange GPRS' and that Internet Explorer Menu-Option-Connections has 'Auto Detect Settings' ticked. Access http://smartphone.orange.co.uk/today or http://wap.orange.co.uk If a small G appears next to the signal bars when connecting then you are using the GPRS network :) 'Where's my nearest' became 'Find thing nearby' under the Travel section of Orange World but for some strange reason it now seems to have disappeared altogether (or at least I can't find it) :?
