Guest midnight Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 Attached is a patched version of PocketMVP in a cab that should install and work on all MS Smartphones (tested on e200, e100 and original SPV) *It was noted that the old version did not install on E200's that have recently been unlocked, the reason for this is unknown, but could be a change in the security policy in the latest Application Unlock from the Orange website. This version does install even on phones that have been recently unlocked OTA.pocketmvp.zip
Guest akarno Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 Hi Midnight, I am running the original version, .8.041303 Smartphone port Beta2c on an original SPV. Are there any tweeks in this version that are of any use to me or is it really for E200 users.
Guest Simon Desser Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 Thanks Midnight, I can NOW play Divx movies on my E200 :) . One minor thing though, this new version seems to alter the power management settings on your phone (like the first early versions of Pocket MVP did) whereas newer versions on my Tanager, used to not affect the power management settings once you exited :D Any ideas :?:
Guest mikeones Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Thanks Midnight too, Pocket MVP effectively install properly on my e200, like the patch proposed by Christophe Segard in fact (http://perso.club-internet.fr/segard.christophe/spv_e200.htm) :) But, like this last patch, Pocket MVP : - can't make a fast forward in a video - need a reboot, to play a new video on my e200. Are this troubles the same on your smart phone ? Is this due of the O.S. ? Thanks for your response. Mike. Who hope that one day he will have a 100% working pocket mvp on his spv e200, the best smartphone design for now.
Guest Tubbby Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 PocketMPV is cool, i havent used it before but its a good little program! For starters it plays .ogg files (the format i love), and it plays them better (with less or no stuttering) than Pocket Music. I havent yet used video as it wont play the .wmv file i use with windows media player (incorporate this into the next version?!?). So i'll go convert my file to see how it plays. EDIT: - Okay problem..is there any plugin that anybody knows for 'Windows Media Encoder' to allow output (Compression) to Divx format?? - If not does anybody know a program that will convert my .WMV to a Divx format??
Guest edupin Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Does not work properly, same as former version : have to reboot your SPVe200 between two videos.
Guest Tubbby Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Use PocketTV for videos.. fantastic program!
Guest midnight Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 this version DOES NOT fix any of the issues you guys mentioned cos all i've done is recabbed pocketmvp so it INSTALLS on the E200, and also the patched E200 fix is in there aswell, so this is all you need to get it working, which i thouhgt i explained in my first post. next time i wont bother eh
Guest Simon Desser Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 patched and fixed....... should install and work on all MS Smartphones (tested on e200, e100 and original SPV)Maybe your wording implys more than you intended :?: I'm still very grateful you made this cab, as before you did this, I couldn't get it to work AT ALL on my E200 (it installed no problem, but it just wouldn't work :? ) However, the issues mentioned in this thread seem to be specific to the E200, as they were not problems on the SPV, Tanager and MPx200 :?: next time i wont bother ehDon't take it as a personal criticism, none was having a pop at you :?
Guest chavyboy Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Hi. I can't get Pcoket MVP to work on my e200, does anyone know what's wrong? It loads up OK, but when I try to open a file, it comes up saying , and the softkey options at the bottom (Settings, and File) don't work. Please help, I really need a decent video player and an audio player that allows fast forwarding!
Guest sleepnow75 Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 The title of this post is misleading. Yeah, may install on an E200, but it doesnt work for sh*t. Having to reboot the phone between movies, some of the functions lock up the phone all together. ** DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME INSTALLING THIS ON AN E200 :-( ** Also, someone change the topic to read "PocketMVP - SPV/SPV E100". Enocde you movies w/ MPEG for now, and keep your fingers crossed for a E200 / Smartphone 2003 version. Waste of time, misleading topic.
Guest Pondrew Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 Sleepnow: You're really not helping things. This DOES help, especially the new E200 users who would rather have a partially working PocketMVP that is easily installable then NONE AT ALL. Midnight: Cheers for the effort dude. It's appreciated (by most of us anyway)
Guest sleepnow75 Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 Not helping things by what, saving people wasted time? Not getting thier hopes up that this application has been "fixed" when all that was "fixed" was the install? Its appreciated that he has taken the time to make the changes necessary to make this installable, but its a little misleading saying "it works". I'm quite sure that it doesnt work on the E200 the way the author intended for it to work (as it does on SPV/E100). Personally, I don't like programs that make my phone crash. At the end of the day, it just really isn't worth having unless you're too thick, or dont have the time to encode in mpeg and use pockettv until he's had the opportunity / resources to make a version that works as advertised w/ SP2K3. Your brown nosing to midnight, and making out like this is the bees knees and works fine on all phones is what doesn't help, mate.
Guest Pondrew Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 Which bit suggested it was the bees knees mate? And where did I make out it was fully working? Was that where I suggested: 'E200 users who would rather have a partially working PocketMVP that is easily installable then NONE AT ALL'? Look, I don't mean to disrespect you, just that I've been in the crowd of SPV owners since December 2002 and followed this forum since then. Midnight is one of the main contributors both to this forum and the SmartPhone movement and has been for ages. Now that's just my opinion. Feel free to have your own... BUT... Until you contribute something other then hot air I'd suggest not putting down the effort of those trying to help us SmartPhone owners.

Guest icebite11 Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 were can i get long horn pro from
Guest looeee Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 ** DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME INSTALLING THIS ON AN E200 ** OK so I followed this advice when I got my e200 and have just got round to installing it recently. I followed the excellent guide to making vids in the modaco faq and am very impressed with the results. The picture quality is so good that I am prepared to forgive it for its faults. I can't skip forward/backward in in PocketMVP but i have some very long WMAs and can't skip in wmplayer either. Having to reboot when changing AVIs is a little annoying so I'm only using it for 25min episodes of stuff. At least it boots quicker than an spv. I am still using PocketTV as its beautifully written but the picture quality is so much less sharp than divx. I wish that PocketTV could resume from the middle of a film. looeee
