SD and MMC Card information

I know that when you get your SPV you only get a small Mb SD Card.

I know that people will be going out buying SD and MMC cards straight away. But wait... which size do you buy? You don't want to spend too much and get a large Mb card and never use it all and you don;t want to buy a small Mb one and find out you have filled it straight away. In my opinion, I think you are better off getting a SD card as they are more future proof and have better security features than MMC cards do.

Here's some information which you might find useful when buying one.

Size of SD Memory Card 32MB 64MB 128MB

Telephone Numbers 800,000 1,600,000 3,200,000

CD Quality Music 40 min. 80 min. 160 min.

Pictures @ 2 mega pixels 64 128 260

Pictures @ 3 mega pixels 43 86 170

Pictures @ 4 mega pixels 32 64 120

Hope this helps.

My advice: Go for a 256MB SD straight away - there's gonna be a lot of software coming out for this baby :D

^ yup i have a 256mb SD card sitting in my SPV as we speak, the biggest i think you can get easily is 512mb, but i have heard that MS tested the SPV with a 1gig SD card.

Get your cards off ebay no where can beat the prices they are going at on there!

Re the Orange Add-on card that comes with the phone:

Is it o.k. to delete / archive the apps to your pc once you've installed them, thus freeing up space on the card?

Is it as simple as moving them with Active sync explore?

Cheers,

Nathan

I'm about to order a 128mb SD card from Expansys... it's under £50! I checked in Comet this morning and the one they had there was £124 for the same size card!
